WILPATTU NATIONAL PARK
Located north of Puttalam, 45km (40minutes) on the Anuradhapura Road and 26 km (25 minutes) from the newly opened entrance on the Old Mannar Road (Elawankulam). At over 131,000 hectares, Wilpattu is the largest and oldest established wildlife park in Sri Lanka. Famous for its unique natural lakes (called Villus), Wilpattu provides visitors with a glimpse at leopards, elephants and sloths bears as well as a wide variety of birds.
